Intro to Italic Calligraphy
Join instructor Karen Nordstrom Roberts in a six-week Intro to Italic Calligraphy class this fall. The class will cover the underlying forms that, when combined on paper with ink and a metal broad-edge “dip pen,” create this beautiful, modernized lettering style from 16th century Italy. This class is appropriate for students who are new to calligraphy, new to broad-edge styles, and/or would like a refresher. Topics include: selection and use of supplies, nibs and ink, lowercase, capitals, numbers, punctuation, spacing, and project layout.
All sessions will be recorded and available by a private link shared with the students for up to 3 months.
A supply list will be send upon registration.
Handouts, demo pages, and homework will be uploaded to a Dropbox link the instructor provides.
All students will have the opportunity to have personalized feedback form the instructor.
